I can tell you you've already made some mistakes - maximum contract length is 4 years or 3 if you give the guy a team option, and you need to include a salary and a bonus in the contracts you do offer.

I can calculate the salaries, the formula is not easy. Bonuses are irrelevant. They don't matter at all. Sometimes I use him to get guys to accept franchise tag contracts, but that's it.

Sean's right about contract length.

Yuri Alexandrov did not like your contract suggestion. (I'm assuming it's the two-way that he doesn't like. Keep in mind that he'll have to clear waivers at age 25 if you take the two-way option off the contract.)

ELCs:

Fallon 400k 3 yrs TW
Burdasov 400k 3 yrs TW
Puempel (51 overall 2011) 1M 3 yrs TW
Bertaggia (111 overall 2011) 750k 3 yrs TW
Khokhlachev (41 overall 2011) 1.25M 3 yrs TW
Misyul (146 overall 2011) 600k 3 yrs TW

Contracts offered.

An award has been determined in the Clarke MacArthur arbitration.

MacArthur
Terms: 3 yrs, two-way
GM proposal: 1.5M per; comps: Upshall, Leino
Agent proposal: 1,333,333M per (with one-way contract only); comps: Downie, Campbell, Kennedy, Boyd

MacArthur was incorrectly left to sit in the AHL last season as I turned a blind eye to situation and let a player who was making too much money sit in the minors. Both GM and agent agree that MacArthur is nothing more than a 12th/13th/14th depth forward with Boston, but MacArthur instructed his agent that he was tired of riding buses to minor league games and wants to be a part of the Bruins organization, but only a full-time Boston Bruin, not a Providence Bruin.

MacArthur is willing to hold out if a one-way contract at the maximum decrease is not offered.

As the arbitrator, I accept MacArthur's demands and suggest that a one-way deal worth $1,333,333 per be offered. If you decline this award, MacArthur will hold out or request a trade.

An award has been determined in the Tomas Fleischmann arbitration.

Terms: 2 yrs
GM proposal: 1.8M per; comps: Laich, Stajan, Clarkson
Agent proposal: 2.35M per; comps: Hudler, Samsonov, Filppula

All parties agree that Fleischmann deserves a raise from the 1.45M he got this season, which included two E5 bonuses. Fleischmann was vastly underpaid at $950,000 for the season. Fleischmann was a benefactor of playing with good talent around him, sometimes playing with Lucic and Kessel, according to the GM, and most anybody would be able to rack up some points playing with those two. One of the major detriment's in Fleischmann's game is that he's not a strong enough offensive player for a top-six forward role and his 55 HI makes him difficult to use on lower lines. That said, with a decent CH and high PO, he fits adequately on a trapping line.

On the surface, Fleischmann just appears to be a guy that overachieved this season. Guys like Hudler and Stajan seem to be vastly overpaid based on their play and performance in the file. Also, for whatever reason, Fleischmann got a lot of powerplay time this season and 22 of his 49 points came on the man advantage.

The comps in this case seem to be applying the logic of "balancing out", as most are decidedly better offensively than Fleischmann, but more of a defensive liability.

The fact of the matter is that Fleischmann deserves a raise for a 49-point season with 24 goals. 24 goals is more than far more talented offensive players like Jason Pominville, Henrik Zetterberg, Travis Zajac, and Brad Boyes. A $600,000 raise seems fair for Fleischmann's production and the proposed contract length.

I award Tomas Fleischmann $2,000,000 per season for the next two years. (Jason requested a two-way, but it's irrelevant because he makes too much to go to the AHL anyway)

Jason, you can accept/reject this award.

Alessio Bertaggia has signed a $750,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Rob Kwiet has signed a $650,000 per year, 2 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Oleg Misyul has signed a $600,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Jordan Caron has signed a $3,000,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced. (to be adjusted to 3.1M)

Anton Burdasov has signed a $400,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Greg Nemisz has signed a $3,500,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced. (to be adjusted to 2.55M; guess I offered WAY too much on accident)

Jacob Fallon has signed a $400,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Joe Colborne has signed a $3,250,000 per year, 4 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced. (to be adjusted to 3.2M)

Alex Bourret rejected the $470,000 per year, 1 year offer from Boston Bruins

Teigan Zahn has signed a $400,000 per year, 2 year deal with the Boston Bruins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

An award has been determined in the Dennis Wideman arbitration.

Terms: 3 yrs + TO
GM proposal: 3.3M per; comps: White, Keith, Whitney
Agent proposal: 3.7M per; Whitney, Meszaros

Wideman, unlike several of the arbitration cases we've evaluated, had a down year with a contract on the line. Not only did Wideman's production go down during the regular season, but it also went down during the playoffs, with just two assists in 10 games. That said, Wideman's ice time decrease could likely be the cause for his lack of production. The previous GM/auto lines likely placed Wideman higher up the depth chart than the current Boston GM did.

All things considered, both parties agree that Wideman is not a $4M defenseman. That I agree with. Whitney is a stronger player defensively, Meszaros has a much higher CON, up in the low 80s. Wideman, though, unlike those two, is a bit of a defensive liability with a HI in the mid 60s and nothing above 75. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of Wideman through the duration of this three-year guaranteed contract with a salary that is almost immovable because there are much better players in the file making below 3.3.

Is Wideman the 44-point player or the 27-point player? That's a big difference when talking about a guy who is just 70 DF. Over the course of this contract, he'll probably be both. Wideman did lead the Bruins in powerplay points and shots and there's some value in that.

I award Dennis Wideman $3,437,500, a $500,000 decrease from his previous salary, for the next three seasons with a team option for a fourth.

Jason, you can accept/reject Wideman's award.

An award has been determined in the Trevor Cann arbitration.

Length: 2 years + two-way
GM proposal: 560k per; comps: Sateri, Darling, Conz, Keetley, Stefaniszin - range between 320k (Darling) to 574k (Stefaniszin)
Agent proposal: 900k per; comps: J. Smith, Holtby, Murphy

This is a simple backup goaltender case. Cann is a borderline NHL backup, quality AHL starter, which he showed with the team's Calder Cup victory. I'll lean towards the agent's number and give Cann an award of 725k per for the next two seasons.

Jason, you can accept/reject this award.
