Your negotiating power comes from the arbitration process. EHM's in-game financial system sucks.

We implemented the new rulebook after our second season. Players were signing for dirt cheap in EHM because it's mostly greed-based. That's why we do the Exhibit 5 bonuses (which are actually in the NHL CBA, but we modified them). That was to fix salaries prior to the new rulebook. Also to fix the fact that we didn't have an ELC system in place.

Confirming 6.4M number for Edler, he's a better player in the current file.

New contracts are based on the higher of the attributes from the current file or the fastsim file. Since Edler is better in the current file, we use his current attributes rather than his fastsim attributes to calculate his salary.

Yann Sauve
$1,160,000 now; under 60 average with DEF +73 (42/77) 50% increase
1.50 * 1.16 = $1,740,000

Devaluations: SH, PL, SH -300,000

Total salary: $1,790,000 or offer in game because average under 60?

By this I assume you mean make an offer and see if the game accepts it?

If so, I did, and he accepted a $1.3/yr for 3yrs and a TO.

No. We offer formula contracts and nothing below that. If you want to extend a qualifying offer to maintain his free agent rights, you can, but he will not play at any salary below the formula calculation.

An award has been determined in the Chris Kelly arbitration.

Length: 2 + TO
GM proposal: 1.65M per; comps: Ward, Kostopoulos, Grier, Slater, Torres
Agent proposal: 2.1M per; comps: Pisani, Paille, Madden

This is an interesting situation. Kelly's previous salary was 2.125M when I signed him for orphaned Vancouver last season to give them some NHL-caliber talent in depth roles. Kelly doesn't do anything particularly well, but he's not going to hurt the team with his performance. With high 70s in CON and LE, he's now the file's typical 3rd/4th line veteran forward. As Kelly's agent notes, the salary range for players of Kelly's caliber are spread across the board. It's hard to see where Kelly would be deserving of a raise.

A near maximum discount doesn't seem fair either, as Kelly wasn't bad for the Canucks last year. With the team's youth movement, Kelly will be one of the few leaders with 75+ LE. As the team moves in a different direction, Kelly expressed to his agent that he wants to be a part of it and help mentor the young guys. He's willing to take a pay cut to 1.75M.

Jason, you can accept/reject Chris Kelly at 1.75M per for 2 years + a team option.

Offer them all, the minimum they can make or be offered for 1yr and add TO and 2-way.

When it's appropriate, I'd also like to sign possible POT boosters G Marcus Hogberg, F William Carrier, and D Mitch Wheaton. Minimum they'll be awarded/accept.

Coded into EHM.

Also known as the "Montelongo Effect" after a player taken by a former longtime fhockey.com poster....I think taken maybe first overall in some league? Top five maybe?

Well that sucks, wish they would have made that a little more known, or obvious on their website about POT boosting. Pissed away a pick then because of it.

He had some EHEC games last year, so I could factor in devaluations.

(SH, PL, ST) -300k = $1,450,000 which based on last year is AHL eligible.

At $1,750,000 he probably ends up on the scrap heap.
