2019 Tampa Bay Lightning Prospect Report

Post by Jets GM »

Just in time for the deadline!

#1 Image Alexis Binner (LD)
5th round, 124 overall (2017)
Projected: NHL 3rd Pairing D

Code: Select all

Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM +/-
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2016-17 CSKA Moscow RUS 59 25 16 41 71 33
2017-18 CSKA Moscow RUS 58 7 13 20 55 34
2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning NHL 1 0 0 0 2 -1
2018-19 Syracuse Crunch AHL 42 3 4 7 30 -71
He boosted right one year after his draft year and is now playing in the AHL. He will have limited shooting and passing. Good stickhandling. Great checking and hitting but limited positioning. He will be effective in the NHL if paired with a good puck moving D in a limited role.

#2 Image Samuel Laberge (RW)
5th round, 147 overall (2015)
Projected: 4th Liner

Code: Select all

Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM +/-
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2014-15 Rimouski Océanic QMJHL 55 30 24 54 24 37
2015-16 Rimouski Oceanic QMJHL 71 56 21 77 76 32
2016-17 Rimouski Oceanic QMJHL 70 47 23 70 74 36
2017-18 Syracuse Crunch AHL 62 12 12 24 24 -26
2018-19 Syracuse Crunch AHL 44 3 3 6 30 -72
Laberge is a potential CON booster who still could be a NHL player without a boost. A decent shot and hands, with good checking and hitting. Limited passing and positioning. A perfect Dump & Chase or Hit & Grind bottom six winger. Has been a long-term development project, but is almost NHL ready in his 2nd year of his ELC.

#3 Image Kasper Björkqvist (LW)
5th round, 129 overall (2016)
Projected: 4th Liner

Code: Select all

Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM +/-
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2015-16 Blues Espoo FIN 79 39 54 93 35 32
2016-17 Blues Espoo FIN 56 37 30 67 9 32
2017-18 Blues Espoo FIN 58 38 29 67 31 35
2018-19 Blues Espoo FIN 30 35 29 64 4 38
Acquired in a salary dump transaction with St. Louis. Could have a good enough shot and stickhandling to be part of a secondary scoring unit. Needs to have the right amount of playing time if he is to come over and play in North America.

#4 Image Nando Eggenberger (LW)
3rd round, 64 overall (2018)
Projected: 4th Liner

Code: Select all

Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM +/-
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2018-19 Tappara Tampere FIN 31 25 10 35 38 33
Recently acquired from Ottawa in the trade for Reid Duke. Nando will be an good checking, positioning and hitting. He could play on a PK 2nd unit in the NHL. He does not have much offensive upside.

#5 Image Evan Sarthou (G)
5th round, 147 overall (2016)
Projected: NHL Backup

Code: Select all

Season Team Lge GP Min GA EN SO GAA W L T Svs Pct
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2016-17 Tri-City Americans WHL 78 4680 182 2 9 2.33 29 42 7 1861 .911
2017-18 Tri-City Americans WHL 78 4680 157 1 10 2.01 35 34 9 1923 .925
2018-19 Augsburger Panther GER 14 840 28 0 2 2.00 5 7 2 320 .920
Another CON booster. If he were to boost in a trade to the mid 60's, he could be an good backup in the NHL. Since he wouldn't be starting in Syracuse, he has gone over to Germany and get more starts.
