Cody Hodgson has signed a $5,500,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.
Franchise tag = 4,281,250 (what was posted with formula); contract length to requested to 11 (?) years?

An award has been determined in the Fedor Tyutin arbitration.
Terms: 3 yrs + TO
GM proposal: 3M per; comps: Girardi, Sbisa
Agent proposal: 3.35M per; comps: Rozsival, Martin, B. Stuart, Ballard, Morris
Fedor Tyutin has been operating at his real life salary of $2,843,750 during his time in EHEC. Both the GM and the agent agree that Tyutin's play for the Eastern Conference runner-up warrants a raise. Tyutin has a very strong PL attribute and is a well-balanced defensive defenseman with no holes in his game. He's got a CON in the 70s and is still under 30. Tyutin's been a consistent offensive performer with 25 or more assists all three seasons of EHEC. One slight detriment is his fairly high number of penalty minutes. But, with just 35 fighting, Tyutin stuck up for his teammates 7 times this season.
One thing about Tyutin that went unmentioned by both parties is that he's played all 82 games all three seasons of EHEC. That kind of durability is a nice quality to have. Both GM comps are, admittedly, underpaid. Sbisa should be making more and Girardi has been a valuable piece for several teams.
In this case, I think it's reasonable to land in between both GM and agent. Tyutin has played well enough to warrant a raise and should still have value with a movable contract, if necessary.
I award Fedor Tyutin $3,150,000 for the next 3 seasons with a team option for a fourth. It's a marginal raise of just $300k, but it's between the two parties and an acceptable price to pay for an 80 PL defenseman who is a solid second pair guy.
Bern, you can accept/reject this award.

Awards have been determined in the Marty Turco, Jarome Iginla, and Justin Pogge arbitrations.
Marty Turco
Length: 1 year
GM proposal: 2.5M; comps: non given
Agent proposal: 4.1M; comps: Nabokov, Kiprusoff, Thomas
Turco had a fine season backstopping the Penguins to a Stanley Cup sweep over the Calgary Flames. Turco is hockey's "chicken or egg" argument. Was he that good or was he simply a benefactor of the team in front of him? I think it was a lot of both. We've seen in EHM that low shot totals wind up leading to bad save percentages and higher-than-expected GAAs. Turco had a 2.17 GAA and a .891 SV% en route to a 32-13-7 record. In the playoffs, he was even better, going 14-3 with a 2.05 GAA.
To not even offer Turco the same salary as last season is a disgrace.
Turco no longer wishes to negotiate with the Penguins and will become a free agent.
Jarome Iginla
Length: 3 + TO
GM proposal: 7M per; comps: Spezza, Kovalchuk, Nash
Agent proposal: 8.2M per; comps: Ovechkin, Heatley, Cammalleri
Iginla managed 31 goals in 42 games this season for the Penguins, putting him on pace for a 60-goal season, which would have easily led the league. He is one of the premier players in the file and now has a LE of 95 due to the changes made this offseason to veteran players. Iginla's importance is off the charts. He may regress at the tail end of this contract, as he'll be 39 if the team option is accepted, but he will produce plenty of value prior to that. He also has a ridiculously high CON, which should slow down the vopatizing process.
Iginla deserves to be paid like one of the premier players in the file. His 7M is a carry-over salary from his real life contract with the Flames. The way he's rated in EHEC warrants a sizable raise and there's no telling what he would get in free agency if he were to hit the market. Iginla is happy in Pittsburgh, but there's no doubt that he'd be in line for more money on the market. After being -11 in TA/GA ratio in the regular season, Iginla was +14 in the playoffs and had 16 points, almost a point-per-game. His performance in a contract year undoubtedly deserves a raise.
Iginla's closest comps are Nash and Ovechkin, and Nash checks in at 7.8M and Ovechkin at 9.5 and change, both real life salaries. Age is a factor here, but it's hard to see Iginla regressing much by the end of the contract. He's a leader, a great player, a very consistent performer, and one of the game's elite goal scorers.
In the end, Iginla should be paid like the top five player that he is in the file.
I award Jarome Iginla 7.85M per for the next three years with a team option.
Bern, you can accept or reject this award.
Justin Pogge
Length: 3 + TO
GM proposal: 400k; no comps
Agent proposal: 750k; comps: Mike Brodeur, Dan Ellis
Pogge's claim to fame is his 86 CON that makes him a very affordable, yet reliable backup. Since most backups only play around 15 games per season in EHEC, an 86 CON means that Pogge gives you a chance to win more often than not, even with his low ratings. Pogge went 8-2 in 10 games, with his spots very carefully picked. Pogge also won two playoff games in two tries and posted a 1.98 GAA in those games. Another comp to Pogge would be Antti Niemi. Niemi is a bit better in the attributes department, but also has an 80 CON. Niemi made 1.2M last season, Ellis made 1M. Overall, the difference between them and Pogge is very small.
I award Pogge 650k for three years plus a team option.
Bern, you can accept/reject this award.

Maybe you can get him at a discount as UFA... he's definitely proven one thing at this point: he's good enough to not be the reason you DON'T win the Cup.
