Leland Irving's improbable run continues as the Hawks take a 3-0 stranglehold on the Western Conference finals. Daniel Sprong evens things up in the third with his league-leading 11th playoff goal after the mandatory early goal by Thomas Vanek, and Cristoval Nieves adds another in the second to give the Stars their only lead of the game. The Texans are let down by two straight tripping penalties by Jack Roslovic 3:30 of play, as the Hawks' powerplay gets slump-breaking goals from Kostitsyn (0 in 5) and Cotton (0 in 12). Tyson Jost makes amends for his earlier lack of discipline earlier in the game by tying it up with 5 minutes to go, but then Paul Ranger is the overtime hero with the obligatory first shot on goal making it past (not so) Big Hell Mountain.
