Many games this evening, thankfully I am back from Egypt for this one.
We start off with Ottawa beating Boston 3-2, despite Brett Connolly scoring his 23rd and 24th goals (Sam Reinhart got primary assists on both) and having a 5min powerplay because Raphael Lavoie injured Nicolas Hague for two weeks. Lavoie, who is now suspended for 2 games, subsequently fought Ryan McLeod twice in the third as well.
Buffalo beat the Flyers 2-0 in an apparently dull affair, while the Hurricanes and Flames tied 3-3 despite a combined 11 powerplays. Carolina went 1 for 5 but put up 15 shots on the 11 attempts.
Arizona defeated the Wild 3-1 - two former Red Wings, Maxime Fortier and Dustin Jeffrey, picked up goals for the Coyotes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Much like in real life, the Oilers were let down by their goaltending as Pavelec allowed 5 goals on 27 shots in a 5-1 loss to Dallas.
Two straight 3-3 ties followed, first Florida vs Washington (Donskoi with 2 goals), then Nashville vs Winnipeg. Interestingly both games also had penalties in overtime.
Dawson Mercer's two goals helped Vancouver to a 4-2 win over the Islanders, while the Rangers won the Battle of Wounded Titans 5-3 over the Habs. Lucic and Hayes each had a pair of goals.
Finally, against all odds, San Jose got good goaltending (Nedeljkovic with 21 saves on 22 shots) and beat the Leafs 4-1. Bobby Ryan's unassisted goal late in the first proved to be the winner and saw him end his 20 game goal / 16 game point drought.
