Filling in for someone who made the choice, of his own free will, to go to Wilkes-Barre of all places (I honestly have no idea where that is, though I assume it's not too far from Pittsburgh), tonight was mildly interesting.
For instance, Ilya Kovalchuk scored all the goals in the Jets' 3-0 victory over Nashville, a mildly heated affair in which there were 3 pairs of off-setting roughing penalties and two fights (all of which included Alex Pietrangelo) before the 34th minute. There were then no penalties for the remaining 26 minutes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dan will seemingly continue to regret his post-trade deadline acquisition rule, as Sebastien Wannstrom scored two goals in the first (including 35 seconds into the game) and picked up an assist in the 3rd, leading the Sharks to a 5-0 victory over Vancouver.
The evening ended with Valeri Orekhov picking up an attempt to injure major (and an accompanied 10min game misconduct) with just 25 seconds left in a 4-4 tie - Orekhov picked up an EHM-instituted 6 game suspension (Ehlers is out for 3 weeks, so the suspension is 3 more than our rules, but I can't remember which one takes precedence so I'm leaving it at 6. Dan can fix it if that's wrong), while Jan Mysak subsequently ended the game 44 seconds into overtime. Artem Anisimov also picked up a 2min roughing minor (not off-setting) and a 10min misconduct in the first, though it seemed to have little direct impact on the game.
