Small group of games this time out.
The Ducks give the Blues a bunch of powerplays and a 3-1 lead through the first 30 minutes, but manage to cut out the penalties and tie the game 7 minutes into the third. From there both teams seem to give up on scoring (including neither managing to score on an OT powerplay) so this one ends 3-3.
The Hurricanes and Leafs spend most of their game beating each other up, but the Leafs and Nicolas Roy each manage three goals and this one also heads to OT tied 3-3. Unfortunately for the home fans Jakub Voracek pots the winning goal in OT for the Leafs.
The only thing even about Washington @ Detroit was the 2-2 penalty count. Otherwise everything favoured the Wings; the final score was 4-0, the shot count was 38-13, and even the AHL game followed suit with Grand Rapids obliterating Hershey 11-2.
Finally, the Avalanche got a ton of powerplays in Vancouver, but only managed one (even strength) goal midway through the second. The lead does hold until the 3rd, but the Canucks tie the game in the first minute of the period, then 8 minutes later they score two more goals 39 seconds apart. The margin held from there, giving Vancouver a 3-1 win.
