It's night 3 in the 24-25 EHEC playoffs, but its the 2nd time our West meatgrinder has hit the ice to... well hit each other! Onto the games...

Det scores early, 1:28 in, thanks to Philip Danault, and his first of this offseason. They never look back, despite a short time in the 2nd when Jason Cotton had CHI tied. Shots were even 20-20 and it was 2 vs 1 PP time so a hard fought battle.
DET (1); CHI (1)

Dan's sharkies, like DET, come out of the gate swining as Brady Tkachuk bangs one in past Filip Gustavsson. It's unsurprisingly close all game, and DAL takes the lead early in the 3rd thanks to Daniel Sprong. Ripley and Zibanejad net their first two this offseason and its on to Dallas. Remember Martin, you're never in trouble until you lose at home. Ignore this Kevin...
SJS (2); DAL (0)

COL, eager to make a statement, get their first playoff win EVER in EHEC. That's a hell of a stat boys. It's thanks to goals from Svech, Krejci and Frolik (on the PP no less!). MIN played well, but Clang, getting the start by 'popular' demand, posts a .950%
COL (1); MIN (1)

Finally in Smashville, Taylor Beck scores in 38 seconds from Mr. EHEC-Great Tyler Seguin. Beck outdoes himself by fighting (albeit losing it) to Shane Eiserman. Huh, the GM of the IRL Redwings? Cool. The game stays AWESOME from there - with NSH leading the whole time until at 59:59, yes ONE SECOND on the clock, goalie pulled, its TIMOTHY LILJEGREN from Brandon Sutter tying the game. Unsurprisingly in EHEC the OT is short, which is a shame seeing how great this battle was. But it's Sale from Stoa and Noel, preventing Beck from the Gordie Howe.
NSH (1); LAK (1)

As I am sure everyone cares - Switzerland (!!!!) beat Sweden 6-4 for gold.

Svech is a fucking stud. First playoff goal in franchise history and right back at it in Game 2 with another. Sometimes it feels like he can score a goal per game as his baseline. Slaf and Nylander having a big series so far too. And Clang was starting that game regardless of what the poll said... since some of the voters didn't exactly have COL's best interests in mind lol.

Switzerland winning the worlds is huge!

Having forfeited the element of surprise, we're doubling down on fear. and ruthless efficiency. and an almost fanatical devotion to the pope. and nice, red uniforms.

Hmm, I'm not thrilled about the PP shot counts and the whole only ever winning by one goal margins in late comebacks thing, but if it gets me to the finals again, I'll take it. Also welcome back Brady.

Not that it really matters or proves anything, I could easily lose both games in Chicago, but my road record was the best in the league and was equally as good as my home record (seriously, at home I was 27-12-2, for 56pts and a .683 winning percentage. On the road, I was 26-11-4, for 56pts and a .683 winning percentage 👀)
