Game 3 of the Finals and the Blues are desperate for their first win on home ice or otherwise, and come armed with some fresh line combinations. Will they help? Well, early returns are somewhat poor as McDavid scores 1:11 in and then JVR double Ottawa's lead barely a minute later. A Mark Scheifele slash gives the Blues a chance to cut the lead in half early in the second, but inexplicably, they give up shorty to Cody Hodgson for the second straight game.
Jake Neighbours breaks the ice a few minutes later, giving the Blues some hope going into the final period of regulation. The fans roar as, uhh, Darnell Nurse gets his first of the playoffs a little before the middle of the third. Can the Blues pull off the comeback? The refs help them along by giving Cody Hodgson a hooking penalty at 57:33 (can't score a shorty if you're in the box *taps head*), but despite pulling Gibson with 2 minutes to go, the Blues fail to get anything past Chet "Chet" Pickard. Hodgson and McDavid are the first two stars for the second straight game and after conducting two sweeps to get to the Finals, the Blues will face their own brooms on Monday.
