The Pens make a statement in Washington in what looks to be a long series, Tampa begins their Lecavalier-less Cup defense in winning fashion and Doan picks up where he left off in the Yotes playoff debut. The surprise of the night is in San Jose where Dubinsky has our first OT magic for Dallas just after puck drop in the 4th frame. http://www.ehechockey.com/EHEC.zip.

Gonna be a long road to defend the title without Vinny, nice to get off to a good start.

In keeping with our policy, Nick's got tomorrow's sim. And every sim that involves Ryan and I playing.

Huh, in my test sims I was winning 5-1, 6-2, 4-0. This was a little closer than I was hoping for. Ah well, a win is a win, especially in the playoffs. Go Yotes! At least until the real Coyotes are bounced by Detroit, then go Jets! :D

Yeah, oook. I had one test sim go to OT and it ran afoul of the 15 second goal bullshit in my favour, so of course the real thing has to do the exact opposite.

Glad I wasn't the only one.

But I'm not actually glad.

Also note that Thornton earns just his 3rd 5 rating game of the season in his very first playoff game. Way to show what a playoff warrior you are, Jumbo Joe

EHM may be poor at realism, but they really nailed this one on the head.

Wow.. we actually got 2 goals, held the lead briefly, and didn't allow a PP goal. Not what I wanted to see, but not as tragic as I expected.
