The Devils' offense disappears for the second consecutive night with Chet Pickard recording the shutout. Boston wins an important contest with the Panthers. da Hawks keep rolling as they handle their business at UC with an orphan. Phoenix comes roaring back to defeat the Flames with a three goal third period. Ryan Stone pounds Jani Hakanpaa for his transgression against Joe Basaraba.

Tampa Bay bounces back from disappointment against Carolina to an impressive two points in Pittsburgh. Winnipeg keeps the Western Conference swing headed in the right direction with another W. However, the trip becomes more difficult in multiple ways. San Jose looms on Tuesday, and Alex Pietrangelo will sit four games for crippling Aaron Voros.

Hakanpaa 2G, for Basaraba out 1M.
Pietrangelo 4G, for Voros out 2M.

GREISS. He's clutch. Once he saw Phoenix was getting back in the game, he turned into... hmm, who's the best German goalie ever? Olaf Kolzig?

EDIT: Wait, what happened to Bazooka Joe???

EDIT2: Motherfucker. 1-month injury. Where's the suspension?

Oh okay, I figured you'd mention it in the daily recap. My bad.

Good on Stone for standing up for his teammate, at least. And check out Basaraba's quote in the news. WTF? Also, way to go Lauri Korpikoski... game-winner with 25 seconds left. And nothing like scoring two power play goals during the opposition's intent to injure penalty. Hakanpaa must've felt like shit when he got out of the box, and then ten seconds later he gets a beatdown courtesy of Ryan Stone. Poetic justice. :D

With the pace set earlier, 6-4-0-0 in the last ten is practically a slump in his eyes. Meanwhile in Winnipeg, that's what we call progress this season.

Huh, looks like I forgot to switch goalies. That was Bryzgalov in net. Good for him.

Blowing back-to-back three-goal leads at home has gotta be pretty frustrating no matter who you are, though. :D

Bolts' are beginning to surprise even themselves; 8-1-0 since Andreychuk stepped behind the bench. Nemeth probably didn't hurt either.

I haven't test-simmed all year, been using the same lines since Nemeth got here. People said I gave up to much for Chara, but can't put a price on the first banner in my signature.

Where is yours? :P
