One of the benefits to the Disney resorts is that you get early entry and can stay late at the parks. Believe some travel packages to Disney resorts include food as well. Not sure if it's vouchers for the parks or what, but I'd look into that.

I've been to Orlando but spent most of the time in Disney World, which is awesome. Honestly other than DW and Universal, Orlando didn't really stand out to me.
I visited family in Naples, which is a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nicer place than Orlando. Lots of mansions, miles of white sand and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

Yeah besides DW not sure much there is much else to see, but were renting a car and driving to Miami and then through the keys, Tampa, etc.
Yeah I've heard you have more access but at one of the nicer Disney resorts is like $2,000 a person or can go across the street to a Holiday Inn or Hyatt for $1,000 a person.
I'm not a huge beach / sand person though I can't stand the Ocean water.

Well when I went to Disney World in 2004, it wasn't bad.
I also went in off-season(February) and got a pretty cheap deal.

yeah apparently in september/october its off-season as well. I was looking and I think it's $2100 for 2 people for a week. Cheapest of the Disney resorts for sure.

Make sure you read the fine print of everything that's included. Park admission and food money would probably make it worth it.
I haven't been there since I was little, but my niece's high school marching band performed there last year. My mom, sister, cousin, and her girlfriend all went. Think it was around $800-900 per person. They went through a travel agent.

Anybody been to Miami? We booked 7 nights in Orlando and going to stay 3 in Miami just not sure where we want to stay - Downtown/Brickell area of Miami or pay the extra money and stay in South Beach somewhere.
We're not really big into clubs though, so maybe South Beach isn't for us??? I don't know.

According to The First 48, I'd avoid Overtown and Little Havana.

Haha well being Miami I'd prob go, but I just meant for ol' Victoria sake, I'd much prefer to drink at the bar than go to a club.
It may not be, but only spending a couple nights there, so.
