A merciful late night of no shootout games and lotsa goals. Da Jackets get back on track with a slick 5-1 win over Philly, thanks to Mike Forney and Zach Fuck-all. The orphaned Capitals squeak out a 2-1 against a stacked Devils offense, with both goals from defensemen. Toronto scores a touchdown against the Penguins, who can only manage a field goal in response; blame Ilya Bryzgalov's impressive 4 GA on 8 shots. The Hawks win a thrilling overtime victory against rival Detroit, thanks to Nikita Gusev and the much-rumoured Patrick Sharp. Christopher Gibson wins the battle of the Gibsons against Florida's John, on the strength of a rare offensive outburst from defenseman Martin Marincin and a more likely pair of goals from MPS. Finally, Phoenix lays an egg against the Canucks, earning Andrei Vasilevski first star honours and leading Shane Doan to just lay into two of his underperforming teammates after the game.
