WPG 5 - OTT 4 (SO) Holy crap, Marty...
NYR 5 - DET 2
PIT 3 - COL 1
ANA 4 - MTL 3 (OT)

Lots of new lines tonight. Good to see. Second night of games after the deadline, so here goes: no more leeway on cap violations after tonight. Backups will be played for teams violating the cap.

Boston needs a callup.
Colorado has 51 contracts.
Washington has 51 contracts.
Dallas is over the cap (65,625,207).
Nashville is over the cap (64,026,485).
St. Louis is over the cap (64,026,545).

Nicolas Deschamps was demoted. Believe he was put on waivers earlier this year though I'd have to check. And I haven't ever got an answer about how long they can stay up before they need to go on waivers again.
Also, someone can probably post that St. Louis waives Andy McDonald (that seems to be the intent).

Boston claimed Omark so I should be fine with contracts when that gets in.

I guess they need to go through waivers on their way down each and every time since nothing says otherwise.

It's Bub's call but I don't see it being an issue, at least for now.

Guessing he was referring to another Sens OT/SO loss...

All good.

Man, that race in the Eastern Conference will be fun to watch. 6 teams battling for 4 playoffs spots.

By memory, I think the record is 18

Yeah, I don't think it's an issue for now. We'll address it for the next season.

The "plus side" for Ottawa is that they're only 1 ROW behind Carolina and Washington in the wildcard race....
