So far our modest goal of beating the tar out the Flyers in the season series seems to be going well. Time to take the rest of the season off.

Nashville's claim for Mark Mitera hasn't gone through.

Winnipeg's under the roster minimum.
Chicago's over the contract max.

Winnipeg's over the cap (to date, current, and projected).
Nashville's over the cap (current and projected - due to Enroth signing).
Pittsburgh's over the cap (to date and projected).
Vancouver's over the cap (to date, current, and projected).
Washington's over the cap (to date, current, and projected).

Florida's also over to date but with their current and projected they're fine.
Nashville'll likely demote a goalie to get back under.
Vancouver's releasing Lupul so that'll get them under.

That leave's Winnipeg, Pittsburgh, and Washington.
  • Winnipeg's at 68,307,500. There's actually a very easy fix to get them under. Just promote Kent Patterson and they're good to go (the difference between him and the league minimum that's currently being added for them being under the roster minimum is enough to get them under the cap).

Pittsburgh's at 70,845,000 (only 68,000,000 with Heatley on LTIR but they need to get under while including him in the numbers). They only have 3 players that aren't waiver eligible (Sergei Barbashev, Tyler Pitlick, and Julien Nantel) though they've also said they want Niemi demoted. They're currently at 25 skaters so if they demote Barbashev, Niemi, and one of the other two that aren't waiver eligible, they'll be good.

Washington's at 68,480,000. They've got several players that aren't waiver eligible so there are a number of ways they can get under.

We don't play a whole lot of defense, but we're fun to watch.
