Had not expected to acquire Zetterberg, but as I thought, not many teams have cap space to take on such a big contract. Vik approached me and was willing to be flexible in how I delivered value. I have to pay a little more then what Iginla went for, but Zetterberg should hold up over the playoffs as long as his ice time is managed. This will be the last run for this core of TB, so might as well go for it.

First, I want to let Bub know he has Justin to blame for the draft picks coming from a bunch of different years. So yeah, not my fault.

As for the deal itself, I'd been giving plenty of consideration to keeping Zetterberg for another year but with my now five 1st round picks int his year's draft, I'm curious to see if I can't add some pieces in the offseason that'll eat up that cap space. The 1st and 2nd are years away but, who knows, maybe Tampa will be in rebuild mode by then.
