Two days worth of action to catch up on (again):
TOR 2 - PIT 5 ... Series tied 2-2
BOS 4 - TB 6 ... Tampa Bay wins series 4-0
A couple of barns burned tonight, as the Penguins fight back - literally - to reclaim home ice advantage from Toronto. The Leafs manage to kill off a 5 minute major from Ryan Kesler for taking out Tomas Hertl for the rest of the playoffs with a vicious headshot, but fail to make up the three goals allowed in the first period. Kesler will be suspended for at least one game and also had his face rearrange by Peter Mueller of all people as soon as he stepped out of the box. The Bruins make a valiant effort to avoid the sweep but are let down by Kari Lehtonen, giving up a back-breaking shorthanded goal with just over 4 minutes to go in a 5-4 game. The Lightning are the first team to advance to their conference final.
I don't recall if we ever made a rule for playoff suspensions since introducing the intent to injure suspension table, so I gave Bittner half of the regular season length (10/2=5). I debated giving N/2+1 instead and seeing as Kesler is due just 1 game for taking out Hertl, that ad hoc rule might be adjusted.
e: also the next ANA-CHI game is missing from the schedule but I'll fix that tomorrow.
