Rough night for injuries but only Mika Zibanejad taking out Gabriel Carlsson for a month earns a suspension.

Hey Vik.
Grigorenko is injured for a month.
He's on LTIR and for that duration his cap hit doesn't count against, right ?

I missed that you had a game today when updating my numbers for LTIR, should be fixed now. Your cap will be at 60M each day he's out (assuming your total number is between 60 and 65.4M).

I'm sorry. But I don't understand this...
My questions is . His cap hit doesn't cap towards cap for the duration of his injury (for the entire time while he's on LTIR) right ?

It still counts against the cap, but you're allowed to exceed the cap while he's injured.

Right now, the total salaries on your team are 61,680,000.
Your current cap hit isn't 61,680,000 - 5,400,000 = 56,280,000. It's 60,000,000.

How it works is...
Salaries less than 60M: Cap hit = Salaries
Salaries from 60-65.4M: Cap hit = 60M
Salaries above 65.4M: Cap hit = Salaries - 65.4M

Let me know if you need further clarification.

So... When Grigo (5.4) is out... And Vrana (3.04) Has Been promoted to take his spot. I save cap space every day because of pro ration so my max cap will go up every next day right ?

It'll go up but less than if you don't use Vrana.

Right now, I have your max at 60,169,201.
With Vrana, you'd bank an extra 7,048 in your next game (for a max of 60,176,249). The game after that you'd bank an extra 7,664 (for a max of 60,183,913)...
If you demoted Vrana and made no other changes, you'd bank an extra 63,714 in your next game (max of 60,232,915). The next game, 125,925 (max of 60,302,174)...

I see. And if I promote somebody who takes 650 000 or so... Instead of Vrana? Could give me some sort of calculation of how much I'd bank extra till trade deadline ?

If you want to calculate it yourself:
G = each additional game played
C = sum of cap hits from those games
Max allowable = (4,920,000,000 - 3,415,770,000 - C) / (25 - G)

So, with Vrana replaced by a 650k player...

After 1 game
  • G = 1
  • C = 61,680,000 - 3,040,000 + 650,000 = 59,290,000
  • Max allowable = (4,920,000,000 - 3,415,770,000 - 59,290,000) / (25 - 1) = 60,205,832
After 2 games
  • G = 2
  • C = 59,290,000 * 2 = 118,580,000
  • Max allowable = (4,920,000,000 - 3,415,770,000 - 118,580,000) / (25 - 2) = 60,245,652
