Since making my earlier pick, I've been trying to make a trade with two goals in mind: use my two late firsts to move up to the top 15 and keep the same total number of 1st/2nd round picks. Both of these are accomplished with this deal, which also further bolsters my prospect pool (in adding Callahan), provides some current and future depth (in Karlsson), and an asset that will likely get traded eventually (in Klesla). Pretty content with this one.

NYI:

When I traded McD to the Sens my goal was to shift weight to the D side while balancing things out. I'm fine dropping down to collect two more 1sts. The weight of 14 balanced out with the strength of Green. Some shifting of players, Karlsson in particular for cap reasons. I look forward to continuing to retool the Islanders with this move. Tough to move on from the steady presence of Klesla on the backend but that's what a retool is.
