For the first time in EHEC history, the Islanders will play in the second season. Bolstered by the likes of McDavid, Ovechkin, Filatov, Parise, Werenski, Fleury and the success of Rubtsov the team that had stars but no consistency in the past has finally done what none have before.

McDavid had a wonderful 87pt season but really came on during the stretch drive passing Filatov and Ovechkin for points.

Coach Weight in his first season on the Island stated that he was just happy for the guys. "They played well this year, played within their means and didn't panic during tough stretches. We celebrate now and will get down to work to prepare for the Sens later this week."

McDavid was asked about the opportunity to move on to the playoffs. "it's exciting, it's something you dream of as a kid and your friends and family all hope that chance comes. There are plenty of guys in the league that finish their careers without even getting a chance to win it so we need to take advantage of this opportunity."

The Islanders don't have the history to match the Senators in the playoffs but there is one foe on the Senators that Islanders fans will recognize; former Islander 1st overall, John Tavares. It will be an excellent opening round!
