Actually, I have a question.
David Jones is 25. Just turned 25 as well. The rules state...
1. Any player under the age of 25 does not need to clear waivers to be sent down.
So yes, David Jones would need to clear waivers. However:
3. Players over the age of 25 without a two-way option will be subject to an 18-hour waiver claim window.
David Jones is not over the age of 25. Which is it? I would like to keep him.

Thats why I asked, the rule is unclear for players who are exactly 25.

Well I don't see how you can be exactly 25. If you're 24 and 11 months you're under 25, if you're 25 and one day you're over 25.

Nobody ever interprets age like that.
For example in beer ads, they say "must be 21 or over". As in, you can be 21 OR over. Not once has anyone ever said "must be over 20".

I agree that the phrasing is ambiguous. I know when I was looking at sending players down, I read the "Any player under the age of 25 does not need to clear waivers to be sent down" and thought to myself that I swear I read before it was only players over 25 that would need to go through on waivers.
I am sure one of the commishes can clear it up.

Under 25 means under 25. He could be 24 years and 364 days old and can go down.
If he's exactly 25 or 25 and 1 day, and without a two-way, he has to clear waivers.

Caps I think you have to waive a player first before you can release him, Kyle McLaren never cleared waivers first before he got bought out. So I don't think it makes a difference for you either way you drop him.
Claim on Kyle McLaren.
