A... curious set of results, starting with the fact that EHM tried to schedule COL-SJ for tonight. That was not happening. Four Eastern games did, though:

In OTT, the Sens go down 2-0 in the first, but McDavid and MacLeod tie things up for the third. Justin Kirkland gives the Sens their first lead, but they soon give it up to a shorthanded goal from David Jiricek, unassisted (I don't know what's up with these unassisted SHG by DFDs). Then the crowd is stunned when Phil Kessel scores the OT winner on BUF's third shot, which brings the shot totals to... 34-17. Also noting that OTT's PP went 0/6 with 15 shots and gave up that shortie. Series tied 1-1.

Over in TB, a bag skate and goalie change fail to pay immediate dividends as the Bolts find themselves down 2-0 7 minutes in and 3-0 in the 2nd. Crosby breaks the ice but the Leafs never give up their 2-goal cushion. Laine and Nuge star with 3 points each, and Seth Jones has 2A and a +4, while Simeon Varlamov shows his age. TOR leads 2-0 heading back home.

In the big apple, NYR's lineup changes do seem to have an effect as the Rangers score early (a common theme) and restore their lead within a couple of minutes of giving it up. Things are looking good after Eric Tangradi extends it to 3-1. Unfortunately, the Devils rally and score three of their own within a span of 6 minutes in the third period. Mattias Tedenby ices things with his second identical goal with 2 minutes left. Also of note, Carl Sneep got an ATI and a 2 game suspension for hurting Nolan Foote in the - you're not going to believe this - ankle. Jake Oettinger will maybe want to improve on his 78.6sv% while Nik Glukhov might need a rest after playing 30:00. NJ leads 2-0 heading back to their home.

Over in PIT, the Pens also storm ahead with Roman Schmidt scoring from Juuso Valimaki just a minute in. Svechnikov and Dach trade goals, while the second is the only scoreless period all night. The Pens secure their victory with Yakupov's PP goal (also the only of the night) and by killing off a 5 minute major, a result of Conor Geekie injuring Zakhar Bardakov's wrist for 2 weeks. Adam Larsson's ENG seals the deal and gives PIT a 2-0 series lead - the only top 4 seed to keep home ice advantage.

Elsewhere, the WCs had the usual 9-goal-total games and SWE beating RUS 6-3 was the only notable result.
