Game 1 ECF, PIT @ OTT. This time around the opening goal comes courtesy of Joseph "Joey Joe Joe Jr" Veleno at 6:17 - his first of the playoffs and first in 11 games. Tyler Boucher extends the Pens' lead to two at 6:07, and then to three just after the halfway mark. Are the Sens done for? Not quite, as Colin Wilson breaks Jack Campbell's shutout bid with a minute left in the second. We head to the third with shots tied at 18 apiece (8 in the 1st, 10 in the 2nd for both). Will the Sens manage a comeback?
... no, as they only manage a single shot on goal in the third, while the Pens double their goal count to six. As you can imagine, challenges won were skewed in PIT's favour 68% to 36%. The last to score is a Russian named Danny Z, but it turns out to be PIT's Zhilkin (also his first of the playoffs and first in 15 games) rather than OTT's Zharkov (watching from the press box). Anyway, PIT leads the series 1-0.
