I'm kind of amused how I accepted Friday/Sunday, and then we get a week where there is just one game on Monday, none Tuesday, four Wednesday, none Thursday, 9 Friday, none Saturday, and a whole bucketload (13) on Sunday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, tonight's fun and exciting stuff?
Well, New Jersey beat Boston 3-2 in OT... St. Louis beat Vancouver 2-1 in a game that featured no powerplays (just two offsetting roughing penalties) but Buffalo's 5-3 defeat of San Jose tops that with no penalties at all.
Pietrangelo comes back from injury to record a bunch of stats - 5 hits, 2 giveaways, 5 takeaways, 2 PIM, and -4. The last bit contributing to their 5-4 loss (Fleury stopping just 19 of 24 didn't help)
But the best game of the night was easily Colorado vs Minnesota.
Minnesota scored 4 powerplay goals and were leading 4-3, until Colorado pulled their goalie to tie it up with 61s remaining and then won it on the powerplay in OT.
But here's the even more fun stuff: Colorado went 2 for 2 on the powerplay with just 2 shots, i.e they scored on every powerplay shot they took. Meanwhile, Minnesota was 4 for 11 but took 26 shots. Which also means, taking away powerplay* shots, Colorado outshot Minnesota 22 to 4 o.O
* of course, the game doesn't tell us how many short-handed shots were taken, so we can't technically say that was 5v5. Indeed, it definitely wasn't cause there was one goal at 6v5...
