I like Kane, but I'm gonna need the cap space when Eberle comes back and this move will allow me to keep Kotkaniemi or Raymond on the roster.

Confirmed. Since Winnipeg has like 14 first rounders in '24 and '25, I feel they can afford to give one up. They have the cap space for Kane, and could really use a playmaking centre to play with some of the great shooters they have, as their two best ones are more defense-oriented. I think they're a good enough team that adding a player makes sense.
