Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
We have had discussions about it before. It is certaintly good etiquette to do so, but there is no rule that says you have to indicate the players eligibility. A former GM, Parker, never did and said it was up to other GMs to take the time to check whether the player could be claimed or not.
I always do, but since it's much easier to sneak players through waivers with GM Office, posting in this thread is all that is required currently. Kaleta also has an extinct two-way, so Leps might not of known that.

I'd say we should have one forum for demotions and one for waivers rather than doing it all in one. Especially since demotions can be done through GM Office.

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
I wonder if we can get Quinn to add a line in GMO that read a player's career stats, so you could at least go to that to see if your guy is waiver eligible.
Frankly, if GMO is working, do we really need to post every demotion that has no waiver consequences?

No, we don't.
I don't care/need to know if GM ''Y'' demotes a player.
All I need to know is who goes on waivers.
PLEASE don't add another forum section!!!

As someone who sim's, I love the idea of dedicating this topic to waiver eligible transactions only.

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
Well another forum section would eliminate the need for you to see who all is going up and down. Right now, you have to look if you want to see if someone's on waivers or not (in this thread). If there was another section, you could just skip it and only have to check the waiver section.flyergp21 wrote:No, we don't.

I guess the problem with not having to post it is that someone might demote someone without realizing they require waivers (a la Brett Sonne). Of course, it's quite possible to do that now it's just ... more shady I guess since you're supposed to post. Although some jerk seems to be policing things like that even though no one asked him to so it might not matter.Commish Bub(NYR) wrote:Just a gentle reminder, folks, to keep placing ALL of your promotions and demotions here, even if you do it in GM Office and think it's gone through. It's good practice to do so just in case something goes amiss, plus we can keep track of all waiver-related issues here.

Montreal demotes Justin Kirkland (certainly not eligible) and promotes Nigel Williams (which you didn't really need to know but was necessary to stay at the roster minimum).

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
The problem is even if demotions are made through GMO, the GM could also forget to mention it here.
Is there a way for you simmers to see all the demotions/recalls made through GMO when u make the sim?

According to this, he is waiver eligible. He'd have to be 25 for the 100 game rule.Tampa Bay GM wrote:WAIVERS
For players 26 or older, contract of 1 mill or less and = waiver free; over 1 mill he can be claimed
For 25 and under, contract of 1.5 mill or less + under 100 NHL GP = waiver free; 1.5 mill or less + over 100 NHL GP = can be claimed (players making over 1.5 mill can't play on the farm anyway, excepting players on their ELC)

If a player is injured for two or more weeks, the team will be granted an LTIR Injury Exemption.Vik (Habs) wrote:Toffoli's injury is down to 1 week so you don't get cap space for it.GoJetsGo wrote:Jets recall Tyler Kennedy from St. John's. (Injury exemption for Toffoli.)
Once the player returns from injury, the team must immediately be back under the $64M salary cap.
This includes activating the injured player when his status is listed as day-to-day (DtD).
I think Toffoli's still on "LTIR".

So as long as the player's initial injury was for more than a week, you get the exemption up until he returns?Calgary.Flames wrote:If a player is injured for two or more weeks, the team will be granted an LTIR Injury Exemption.Vik (Habs) wrote:Toffoli's injury is down to 1 week so you don't get cap space for it.GoJetsGo wrote:Jets recall Tyler Kennedy from St. John's. Yes. Another way to look at it is that whenever the injury is noted in-game in the player's history, you get the exemption until he returns.Vik (Habs) wrote:So as long as the player's initial injury was for more than a week, you get the exemption up until he returns?Calgary.Flames wrote:If a player is injured for two or more weeks, the team will be granted an LTIR Injury Exemption.Vik (Habs) wrote:Toffoli's injury is down to 1 week so you don't get cap space for it.GoJetsGo wrote:Jets recall Tyler Kennedy from St. John's.
