Homepage, Schedule & Results, League Save File

A fairly straightforward set of results for home teams, as they're supposed to do. Ahem.

In the nation's capital, the Sens get on the board early into the second shift with Jacob Middleton's point shot. However, the Leafs' "second" line strikes back later in the period, giving the Leafs their first lead of the series. Unfortunately for them that comes to an end at 33:32 with Jimmy "Jimmy" Lodge's GTG, and hopes are dashed by three straight Ottawa goals in the 3rd period. Kase's tally with just over a minute left doesn't make things interesting enough. OTT leads 1-0.

Over in the other nation's financial? cultural? capital, the Rangers take 5 seconds longer to open scoring but considerably less time to blow that lead. The process repeats itself with an early NYR 2nd period tally and an early 3rd period PIT reply on a Rare Playoff Powerplay Goal by Yak city. But the Rangers end up replying with their own Rare Playoff Powerplay Goal and their overwhelming 36-13 shot advantage carries through to the end of regulation, with the Pens suffering from a combination of Low Challenge % and Didn't Pull The Goalie Down By One For Some Reason. NYR lead 1-0.
