THE TAMPA TRIBUNE GAME REPORT

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (9-4-1) @ MONTREAL CANADIENS (10-5-1)

News and Notes: The Bolts come into Montreal after being shutout in the nations capital on Thursday. David Clarkson who has missed the last 3 games due to injury, will not be in the lineup. Zenon Konopka will take his spot on the 3rd line, Konopka has 3 goals in 12 games with the Norfolk Admirals this season. Tampa has taken 15 minor penalties in the last 3 games, and there top line of Alex Tanguay, Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis combined for 10 giveaways against the Senators.

Lineup Changes: Victor Hedman will be replaced by Andrej Meszaros on the top defensive pairing with Mattias Öhlund. Hedman will join Paul Ranger on the second pairing. Brandon Bochenski will remain on the 2nd line for the injured Ryan Malone, who still has not been given a timeline for recovery from team doctors. With the likelihood of Malone missing significant time, Tampa has begun the search to add more depth up front and bolster a suffering farm team. Stéphane Veilleux remains injured, but is expected back by the end of the month. Ryan Craig has taken his spot on the 4th line.

Deciding Factor: Both teams possess finish up front, and mobile defensmen. Mike Cammalleri has been red hot, starting the season off with 11 goals in 16 games. Carey Price has played every game this season for Montreal, and has been average with a 2.86 GAA and a .890 save %. It will be up to Price to match the other guy at the end of the ice, soon to be hall of famer Martin Brodeur. If Price can give Montreal a solid performance against a potent top six unit in Tampa, look for a very close game between these two teams.

STARTING LINEUPS

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Tanguay - Lecavalier - St. Louis
Ohlund - Meszaros

MONTREAL CANADIENS
Cammalleri - Gomez - Gionta
Hamhuis - Hamrlik

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (10-4-1) @ MINNESOTA WILD (7-10-0)

News and Notes: The Lightning are 8-2-0 in there last 10 games, and are coming a big win on the road against the Montreal Canadiens who came into the game the 1st place team in the East. The Lightning have allowed a conference low 34 goals against and Martin Brodeur is currently 2nd in the league in save percentage. Minnesota is off to a rough start this season after the departures of Martin Havlat and Marek Zidlicky, but have rattled off two wins in a row coming into tonights game. Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored in both wins, and has points in his last three games.

Lineup Changes: No changes for the Lightning, Meszaros will remain on the top defensive pairing with Mathias Ohlund and Victor Hedman stays with Pau Ranger on the second line. Brandon Bochenski has struggled on a line with Steven Stamkos and Jaromir Jagr, going pointless in his last two games after a great performance in his first NHL game of the season. Head coach Rick Tocchet has said Bochenski will continue to remain on the 2nd line, but if is struggles continue we could see another winger from Norfolk getting a opportunity with the Lightning. The recent signings of Ales Kotalik, Richard Zednik and Konstantin Koltsov have added alot of offensive minded depth to the Lightnings roster. All make there AHL debuts tonight.

Deciding Factor: Tampa's best players will have to show up and be the just that tonight if the Lightning hope to win, while the Wild are a young team they have tons of talent up front and a great goaltending tandem. Look for a big game from Martin St. Louis, who hasn't scored in three games and is pointless in six. The Lightning need more production from the little guy.

STARTING LINEUPS

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Tanguay - Lecavalier - St. Louis
Ohlund - Meszaros

MINNESOTA WILD
Bouchard - Koivu - Brunnete
Johnsson - Schultz
