Ekblad to Make EHEC Debut Tonight vs Los Angeles
|
Los Angeles, California - Aaron Ekblad, the #1 overall pick in the 2014 Entry Draft, will make his Vancouver Canucks debut tonight vs the Los Angeles Kings.
Ekblad (shown preparing for this mornings practice) will wear #5, a number he\'s worn since his days in junior.
When asked about having any nerves for his debut, Aaron responded by saying \"I\'m just trying to take it all in and absorb as much as I can, while still playing my own game.\"
The trade of Josh Godfrey, had led some to believe that Ekblad\'s debut couldn\'t be far away. Then with the recent injury to Niklas Kronwall, the door finally opened for the rookie. Aaron was tied for 3rd on the Utica Comets with 19 hits while adding 5 assists in 14 games.
Speculation has Ekblad\'s defensive partner in Utica, Jared Tinordi headed to Vancouver in the near future as well.
