Anaheim are ready to make the playoff

Post by AnaheimGM »

After some years not making playoff, the General manger of the Anaheim Ducks is fully enjoying this new season start. Even if the Ducks end the preseason with a 3-5 record, the roster structure seems to be perfect to make playoff this year. First, the Ducks acquiered defenseman Brandon Coburn from Calgary for foward Nikita Filatov. Second, we trade some low picks to Minessota for fowards Benoit Poulliot and Kyle Brodziak. We also tried to get an all star player in Ales Hemsky on offseason but this signature make a little saga and for the good of the league we dicided to not make a case of it.

Draft time was a little confuse in the Ducks organization. The GM was not able to go on the step to draft his first pick because he was to drunk to do it . The league decided to draft us the small and extremly good foward Temmu Terevainen. This smal guy will be a long shot prospect because of his low overall but will certainly be ready in 2 or 3 seasons. We didn't get a 2nd pick, so we needed to wait on 3rd round to draft again. The Ducks drafted our futur #1 goalie, Jon Gillies. We will probably see him on the pro reoster next season. On 4th round, we drafted Nikita Tikkinen, a furure 5-6 d-man.

There were not a lot of depth to take the spots left on 3rd and 4th line, it was the reason of Pouilliot and Brodziak acquisiton. Bordziak will probably play with Mcmillan and Kennedy and pouilliot will play on 4th line with Whit and Vorros. No prospect seems to play on our team this year in exeption of Joe Morrow. He will probably be our 7th d-man at the beginning, but should get some ici time early in the season if some d-man has not a good start.

Line preview:

Burmistrov-Zetterberg-Gionta
Pavelsky-Koivu-Kane
Mcmillan-Brodziak-Kennedy
White-Pouiollot-Voros

Witney-Coburn
Campoli-Russel
Mitera-Visnevsky

Giguere-Johnsson

+5 Giguere, Terevainen and Gillies
