Trading on?
Can anyone explain to me how is that possible that teams in NHL can trade NOW? (during the playoffs)

Re: Trading on?
Teams can actually make trades whenever they want after the deadline. The players just arent eligible for playoffs thats all.

Re: Trading on?
yea you can trade but I don't think you can post them til after playoffs are over
Re: Trading on?
Well, since we do alot of things exactly how the NHl does it (ex: draft lottery) i dont see why we dont do that here. There isnt a thing about it in the rulebook.

Yeah, that's true.. because, you know, this is the most boring part of the season for all the teams that didn't make it to the play-offs... possibility of trading would make this part of the season much more entertaining and rewarding.

Re: Trading on?
Once we get through the holiday weekend here, Pat and I will begin the offseason processes for the teams that aren't in the playoffs. You can discuss trades, including trading a player's rights, but I believe we kept trading closed until the end of the playoffs last season. But, we will be going through the process of how to re-sign players. I'm hoping to spread it out a bit more this season and we do have some new GMs that didn't go through it last season. It really bogs down our arbitration guys with a lot of work in short periods of time, so we will try to create a schedule that is more friendly for all involved.
Pat and I also need to find some time to discuss possible Rulebook changes including some of the financial elements, mostly with 3rd and 4th line guys who are simply making too much money and forcing too many difficult cap decisions. I'm hoping we can do that in real-time in Google Chat sometime over the next week. Please remember that you can suggest some opinions for league changes right here: http://ehechockey.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4100
It's definitely a slow time for non-playoff teams, but it's the format that we've decided to use. Between the draft, re-signing players, and free agency, there's still a lot that needs to be done up through late June and then all of us welcome the summer break at that point.

Dallas, you can always lock up trades with people, just post it after the playoffs end.
