I think Osala had a TO (which wasn't in the original list), if true in that case I'll extend him one season at his current rate.

Since we're pressed for time, let's say 1.75M for Paille. Thoughts?

Need your Andy McDonald arb.

An award has been determined in the Craig Anderson arbitration.

Length: 3 + TO
GM proposal: 1.2M; comps: Bishop, Niemi, Dubnyk, Pogge, Ersberg, McElhinney
Agent proposal: 1.5M; comps: Bishop, Ellis

Quinn provided this lovely graph:

Image

Also, this mathematical jargon:
After the plot was made, a second order polynomial was used to find a "market value (M.V.)" in the relationship between OA/CON and cap hit. The M.V. is shown as the black curve line and is accurate enough that four of the seven goaltenders (including Anderson's theoretical contract which actually slightly increases the M.V.) lie within 15% of it. According to the estimated M.V., Craig Anderson warrants a contract worth $750,000, but based on his service to the organization, we are willing to meet the requirement and offer him a contract worth $1.2M (60% above his estimated M.V.). Not taken into consideration for the M.V. estimate is is age, but of the seven goaltenders listen, Anderson is the oldest and this would only diminish his M.V. estimation.
An offer of $1.2M average annual value is well above the estimated "market value" for backup goaltenders. The goaltenders selected to be as comparable were players with a consistency much higher than his overall rating, as is the case with Craig Anderson. They must also be within five years of age. To account for both attributes, a weighted overall rating called 'ADJUSTED OVERALL' was determined by the simple formula displayed on the x-axis of the chart. This formula implies that the overall rating is worth more than the consistency rating by a 5:3 ratio. This is of course an estimate only and some teams may value overall more or less, but based on past performance of goaltenders with a much higher consistency than overall rating, this is the ratio I will be working with this offseason to find a replacement for Anderson should the $1.2M offer be insufficient.
Because of the epic nature of Quinn's proposal, I can't help but give him the benefit of the doubt.

Quinn, you can accept/reject Craig Anderson at 1.2M per for 3 + TO.

The rights arbitration hearing for Ryan Whitney is complete.

Length: 3 + TO
1st attempt: 4.75M
Arbitrator number: 5.25M

90% of the arbitrator's number of 5.25M is 4.725M, so Ryan Whitney will be signed for 4.75M for 3 + TO.

Forgot there was a team option on Doughty. I'll use that instead.
