Re: Washington Offers/Extensions
Cancel the arbitration hearing for Evgeni Nabokov as well please.
Also, I exercised Steckel's TO and requested arbitration - guess that should be just exercise the TO. My bad.

Re: Washington Offers/Extensions
Actually, Finley has a TO that went unnoticed (which is the same amount of what he's asking for), just exercise that instead.GoJetsGo wrote:ELCs

Re: Washington Offers/Extensions
Johansson would only take a two-year deal. So I left off the TO. Can fix it to 1 + 1 if you want.
Artemy Panarin does not like your contract suggestion.
Ovechkov would only take 3-yr deal. Same as Johansson. Left off option, can switch to it if need be.

Johansson + Ovechkov sure. Keep the TOs off.
What's Panarin butthurt about? Is it the term length or the salary?

I imagine Panarin's problem is the two-way.

Mikhail Ovechkov has signed a $900,000 per year, 3 year deal with the Washington Capitals. Detailed terms of the deal were not announced.

Re: Washington Offers/Extensions
Sorry for the delay, Tim. Here you go:
Mark Dekanich
Length: 1 yr + TO
GM Proposal: $1.232M
Agent Proposal: $1.35M
Dekanich had a very nice year in Hershey, teaming with Michal Neuvirth to make one of the best tandems in the AHL. Despite his good season, both arbitrator and GM propose a salary decrease; probably to be expected for a career minor leaguer. Both numbers still keep Dekanich below the AHL max threshold, so I'll split the difference and award him $1.3M for next year.
Michal Neuvirth
Length: 2 yrs + TO
GM Proposal: $1.045M
Agent Proposal: $1.15M
Much like Dekanich, here's a case of a quality AHL backup who had a fine season. Once again, I see no reason to not split the proposals here. I award Neuvirth $1.1M for 2 years.
Jamie Langenbrunner
Length: 1 yr
GM Proposal: $2.55M comps: Lehtinen, Pisani
Agent Proposal: $2.5M comps: Burrows, Koivu, Madden, Fisher
Langenbrunner is a quality veteran, who brings high leadership and a very consistent game to the ice. His play slipped somewhat last year, and he had a mediocre playoffs (1g in 12 games). Since the proposals are nearly identical, and both are likely more than he would likely get on the open market, I award Langenbrunner the higher of the two proposals: $2.55M for 1 year.
Olli Jokinen
Length: 2 yrs
GM Proposal: $5.1M comps: Gagne, Parise, Roy, Weiss
Agent Proposal: $5.5M comps: Parise, Sedins, Gagne, Havlat, Elias
Both sides agree that Jokinen deserves a raise after a fine comeback year. At 34, he's not close to Vopatizing, and with the recent boosts to veterans, his value increases even more. He is somewhat positionally limited by not having elite faceoff ability, but he can hold his own. Given his play last year, and his boosts in LE and CON, I award Jokinen the higher increase, $5.5M for 2 years.
Mike Fisher
Length: 2 yrs + TO
GM Proposal: $3.45M comps: Stoll, Madden, Malhotra, Kobasew
Agent Proposal: $3.5M comps: Malhotra, Madden, Talbot
Another very close case here. Fisher is consistent vet with good leadership, but skill-wise is a 3rd-liner. The proposals are close, and like Langenbrunner are more than he would fetch on the open market. Fisher is willing to take a cut in pay to play on a good team, and he will do so. This time, I award the lower of the two props, $3.45M for 2 years.
Tim, you can accept/decline any of these.

Re: Washington Offers/Extensions
Ben Bishop:
Term: 1 year
GM proposal: $1,850,000; comps: Dubnyk, Stolarz, Allen
Agent proposal: $3,000,000
Arbitrator decision: $2,200,000
Bishop's high con alone is worthy of better compensation than he currently makes. But the arbitrator feels the agent request is a bit high.
Tim, ball's in your court.
