Shoking trades in the NHL

WOW

Personally, I think Oilers got robbed. Chiarelli traded Seguin (while in Boston) and now Hall.. the no.1 and no.2 respectively, of the same draft year. WOW.. I think he literally got robbed..I feel sorry for the Oilers fans...but, who knows, maybe Larsson is the piece of a puzzle that will make Oilers a winning team...

And P.K. Subban for Weber? Absolute shocker! I think Preds won it there by a bit.

What are your thoughts about it guys?

Weber is a slower, older, worse version of Subban signed to a ridiculous contract. I would feel sorry for Habs fans except I don't and instead I'm happy for PK to go a team run by a more competent GM.

Hall for Larsson is just hilarious. In case anyone was thinking that the Oilers management might have found a clue somewhere, well... nope.

Well maybe now Subban can learn to properly play defense.

As for Hall, I don't really understand why people were expecting an "elite" type return for him. 65 points is not elite level.

If Weber's body can hold up and Montreal gets 7-8 great years out of him, rather then 5, I would take their side of it. Still a high risk move to make, I don't understand why they felt the need to move P.K.

Hall for Larsson will take a few seasons to find out...

Those sure are two bad opinions. Weber has jack shit on Subban besides a few inches. He's been exposed as a poor defender despite playing with top talent for a few years now, exactly the bullshit narrative that some people try to push about Subban only actually true.

Hall is one of the top left wings in the game. Name 5 better players at his position if you can. Larsson is top 5 in what, right handed Swedish defensemen maybe?

But acquiring Andy Greene's last partner has worked out so well, the Oilers figured they ought to double down. Only they didn't want to feel like they were taking advantage of anyone so they gave up their second most valuable asset to do it. Generosity of spirit, creating some good karma, all that jazz.

there was much anger on the radio waves today... got the text from my dad while cleaning out my classroom for the summer - I'm also a free agent teacher again - didn't get hired back.

Subban is still learning, I never compared him to Weber.

There are plenty of left wingers I would take over Hall. He's a great player, and Edmonton didn't get enough. I just laugh when people expect 3 years worth of picks for one player.

Yeah, I was also reading some blogs and articles and saw a lot angered Oilers fans and I totally understand them. I'd be angry too. The truth is, yes, only time will tell but the trade doesn't look very good today.
I'm sorry to hear that Chris, but I'm sure you're gonna find a new place soon. :)

Well that sucks. I guess you'll be spending the summer lining up your next gig, then?

As for anger, yeah. Go to hfboards and spend a night reading through the various team pages, including a "Welcome Refugees" post on the Nashville boards.
