Carey Price is terrible on a terrible contract, so I'm glad to be rid of him. Negrin wouldn't be egregious to buy out next year, and is serviceable this season. The 2nd was the price to pay to get this deal done and to ship Price out.

Trading my goalie starter for better one, but more expensive one. But it's a good deal for Dallas Stars since I traded John Negrin who is also signed under a rather expensive contract and there's not need for him anymore because Backman will take his spot and I also acquired 2nd round pick 2018.
