I can replace Gillies in the backup position for cheaper, same with McNeill. Wolski is likely overpaid, but he can hit like a truck so I can work with it.

While Wolski is an experienced and solid player, I'm going to follow different route with where Dallas Stars stand right now. This saves me some cap space what gives me an extra flexibility going forward. I had a luxury to trade forward like Wolski because also thanks to, rather successful free agency I managed to grab some interesting young forwards who can play bottom-six and this deal also gives them more space to play. McNeill will also get his chance. Gillies will serve as an extra back-up goalie.
