Congrats EVERYONE WE MADE IT TO GAME 82!! Tomorrow is garbage bag day for the teams that did not make the playoffs, for those that did they will have a chance to compete for EHEC glory in a few days.
Couple things happened.
I had to phone in to the Florida coach to swap out Gibson who was already at 67 games played so Booth made the start.. Florida lost...
Injuries -
Pens lost Sharp for a month - Alt Suspended in Philly for 2 games.
Toronto lost McNeil for 2 months - the league auto suspended Montreal's Downing for 11 games but he successfully appealed to 4 games.
Brian Boyle in Montreal reached 500 career points, and my Islanders went out with a wimper to the Wild.
Stay tuned to the forums for announcements from Dan on all things playoffs!
I'll just share this old CBC playoff montage.. EHM was young then!

This team is the most useless bunch of underachieving assholes imaginable. Congrats on your Art Ross trophy, Jeff "Racks up secondary assists against weak teams and then shits the bed in the two most important games of the season" Carter! A special shout out to the key deadline acquisition of Mikko "2G 6A -2 in 24 GP" Koivu! You somehow managed to achieve even less than Artem Anisimov!
What? We don't do this.IslandersGM wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:53 am Toronto lost McNeil for 2 months - the league auto suspended Montreal's Downing for 11 games but he successfully appealed to 4 games.

Re: April 7, 2021
I know Chicago's farm team is quite literally the worst in the league, just 5 wins all season, giving up an average of ~7.6 goals per game... but I have to admit some pleasure in seeing mine defeat his 15-1 (outshot them 73-9), with Filip Cederqvist putting up 5 goals and 3 assists, Zayde Wisdom 2g3a, Anton Karlsson 1g5a, defenceman Ty Smith a hat-trick (no assists), and Matej Pekar 0g5a.
I'd have done that as well, the sim procedure directs to rules that say "A suspension is handed out for all intent-to-injure penalties resulting in injuries of one month or longer according to the following table:", they don't mention things being different if the game suspends someone for longer than the table would give them.SharksGM wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 2:02 amWhat? In the West:
1. Chi vs 8. Nsh
2. Dal vs 7. Stl
3. Edm vs 6. Ari
4. LA vs 5. SJ
In the East:
1. Ott vs 8. Phi
2. Mtl vs 7. Car
3. Nyr vs 6. Flo
4. Pit vs 5. TB
(I might be wrong about home ice in the 4v5 matchups, both rely on tie-breakers and show differently on the standings page)

Re: April 7, 2021
Samu ended with back to back shutouts and Alexis got his 30th.
Sadly 75 points is the best finish in 7 seasons for MIN but hopefully a sign of progression...
8 picks this year including 2 first rounders will hopefully booster the squad for next year.

Surprisingly strong finish to the season after trading Gaborik, Kovalchuk and several other veterans... 11-2-3 in our last 16 to win the division

Quite proud to have bounced back this year to win the D for the Rangers. The East looks like a wood chipper so who knows from here, but congrats to everyone on another great year, and here's to a fun playoffs.

Tale of two seasons for us... we were 16-20-2 before January 1st and 28-13-3 after.
Losing Sharp for 1 month+ on the last day of the regular season kinda sucks, especially since we're already missing Zibanejad. Both are probably out for at least the first two rounds of the playoffs so it's going to be tough on us. But a very successful second half of the season and season overall.

Re: April 7, 2021
It has been standard practice to only extend suspensions rather than remove them for a while now, though I guess it's one of those rules that didn't make it into the forum-based rulebook.DetroitGM wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 8:30 am I'd have done that as well, the sim procedure directs to rules that say "A suspension is handed out for all intent-to-injure penalties resulting in injuries of one month or longer according to the following table:", they don't mention things being different if the game suspends someone for longer than the table would give them.
Anyway, we generally don't undo things the game did unless specifically directed to in the rules. I presume that nobody has been removing suspensions the game handed out for 2-3 week injuries, if there were any this season.

We can't use players in the playoffs who were claimed after the trade deadline, right?

That is indeed exactly what I said in the post about the playoffs: https://ehec.pro/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10385Dallas Stars GM wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 8:07 pm We can't use players in the playoffs who were claimed after the trade deadline, right?
