Home teams go 5/6 on the evening with the Flames winning big over their provincial rival Oilers 6-1, the Sens over the Coyotes 5-3, Spencer Knight's 22 save shutout lead the Flyers past the Sabres 4-0, and the Canucks came from behind with four unanswered goals to win 5-3 against the Avs.
The Maple Leafs apparently didn't get the home team winning memo, as they were the lone team to lose to the visitors, being downed by the Panthers 4-2 after blowing a 2-0 lead going into the 1st intermission.

A second shutout on the night was by the Dallas Stars, 3-0 victors over the Ducks. The Ducks however did win the "best knee takeout" when David Backes clipped Brandon Montour midway through the second period. This short-term victory in the name of anger for Backes will see him sit for two games, as Montour will be out for around two weeks.
