gambool?

Post by Jets GM »

jw if neone would be interested in placing some $$$ on this EHEC season? there could be a variety of ways/things to bet on......

a) tampa repeating as champs (off the top of my head, 4:1 to 5:1 is maybe what Im thinking)
b) win to win ratio (the line/odds would depending on ur team)
c) last longer (which ever team last longer in post season, again odds depending on ur team)

im super tired and won't bother throwing out odds, but would neone be interested? the easy way i could think to ship money would be through poker clients (i have stars and FT). i'm going to have to deny action from the committee, i trust everyone of them 100% (ryan is a standup guy) but just to eliminate any doubt. i know adam has a FT account, so the money (if he agree's to act as an escrow) could be shipped to him prior to the season starting to eliminate bets not being paid.

i know EHM leagues are just for fun, but as you maybe can tell i am a bit of sicko lol :P not talking major $$$ either. id prob take up to 100 dollars worth of action in total. post itt if interested.

I'm as big a gambler as they come, but I'm not sure that I want to be any part of this. Justin, if you can get other GMs involved, I will only allow it under the stipulation that I don't know any individual wagers. The fact is, this definitely opens Ryan, Nick, and myself up to calls of favoritism and "secret handshakes" and all of those other things.

I think it opens up the possibility of too much collusion as well. I don't think that people would "throw" games, but I just really don't know. I guess if they were all future type wagers, like Stanley Cup winner, division winners, things like that, I can deal with that. But who would get the money on losses? I doubt all of it would be paid back. AKA, who's playing the bookie?

There's no way I would allow individual betting on games. Everything would have to be a future wager, placed before the regular season starts.

My entire goal is to keep Ryan, Nick, and I from being called out for alleged favoritism and rigging of games. So I want no part of this. If you can get others on board, and quite frankly, this doesn't seem like a betting group, you're responsible for it. But I'm not holding any money, I'm not making any bets, and I don't want to know what any of them are.

I wasn't interested in betting in individual games, I'm not that sick :P I guess some GM's could collude together to throw games in order for one team to win a bet, but honestly who is greasy enough to split a bet under 100 dollars 2-3 different ways? Plus there are already rules in place to prevent teams from tanking. All three bets involve both teams trying to either win as many as games as possible in the regular season, or outlast TB in the playoffs.

btw when i say win to win ratio, we would set a line before the season starts (i'll use PIT as an example). We decide on 2:1 (hypothetical), so for every 2 more wins TB has over PIT, I win one unit (however much we decide to bet). However if PIT has more wins then TB, for every win i pay two units. PIT I guess could get some of his buddies in the league (i dont know if he has any) to throw some games during the season, I just don't think we have any lowlifes in the league that would do that.

I don't want to upset/step on any toes, or take away from the good times orientated atmosphere. If you'd rather no wagers take place, its np.

btw PIT, all u need is a CC to deposit on poker sites :)

Justin, it doesn't matter to me what you guys do. I just think it best, in the integrity of the league, that I avoid any and all involvement.
