Well it looks like the Stanley Cup Favorite (TM) NYR are selling agai..... Wait, what?
Listen... when PHI said JT was available, I had to listen. I was interested when OTT had him, but OTT wanted MDC in the deal, which I wasn't having any of. JT is 31 and gives me a final form moving forward. Eichel w/ MDC and JT w/ Lucic. We work on everything from there.
It wasn't cheap either. Danault is, IMO, one of the best 2Cs one can hope for. I really wouldn't move him without an upgrade like JT. Of course, that means it can't be "the trade is one for one" and I have to trade two firsts this year, that while they likely won't be the very top, are still top-30 players. WVB is an interesting project, with a nice POT and ceilings and really just the final sweetener that otherwise got us here.
JT was traded last for what amounted to Crouse and and a 1st that ended up being Cole Sillinger. I think this all gets in the right realm.
