To Pittsburgh:
Matthew Freytag (72)
Ty Smith (77)
Roman Schmidt (71)
Det 2nd (2023)
To Detroit:
Nicklas Jensen (76)
Detroit confirms. It's fairly straight-forward, I'm freeing up some cap space by moving Freytag and Smith (both depth pieces), giving up a good prospect (but still B-tier) in Schmidt, and a 2nd in order to add a hard hitting two-way player, which I felt I didn't have enough of last season.

Re: Pittsburgh-Detroit
PIT agrees.
I was reluctant to move Jensen and I had made myself room to keep him, but in the end, it just looked difficult to keep him around as a long-term piece. This creates a huge hole but it does leave us with some money to play with in Free Agency and the return is not bad - some good futures and Smith will step into the role I had DeAngelo in and is probably an upgrade.
