Koivu fell off a little harder & faster than I expected so we're looking for a new centre with some offense, face-off ability and physicality. Not sure if Gates is going to end up just a rental here or if we'll try to make it work to keep him, but this seems like a fair price to pay for the depth down the middle for a playoff run here.
