ANA is slightly over.

CGY has way too many contracts (unsurprisingly).

NYI is way over the cap. I don't see an easy solution besides sending Wallstedt down.

A few other teams are over but haven't played yet and can fix their issues.

CBJ had many crappy fastsigns. Other than that, a couple of teams had a 4th goalie fastsigned.

Well, I did say I would round it to 50k, so yes that's what it'll be.

Sounds good. My current projected cap is for 22 players, right? So I should have 200k in cap space?

PIT is over and will need a demotion for tonight until their trade goes through.

WAS is over and will need a demotion and/or to deal with Ponomaryov to get under.

Yes, and now you have some LTIR to work with (joy).

An important note for teams relying on fast-signs to fill up their farm team - it is possible to get a fastsign earning over 800k. It is your responsibility to get rid of them. I don't have an easy way to track them and will only double-check for teams that have enough expensive fast-signs to put them over the cap.

PIT and PHI were both over for their first games. PIT has a trade pending but PHI just has an extra player. TOR needs to demote someone after adding Perry.

EDM is over; presumably they meant to spend Diffley down.

PHI is over on account of not having sent down Tuohimaa earlier. Keeping Edstrom or Firkus down for a few games will solve this (and build future cap room) as long as they're not playing anyway.

TOR is still over by their penalty amount.

VAN & WPG have an extra contract or two.

Sawchin and Beaudin are both hurt and Geekie got auto-suspended by EHM, which left Utica with only 11 forwards.

That's something I'll have to fix, but he is suspended (from the last game of preseason), and pro suspensions don't clear unless they stay on the pro roster. So he'll keep being ineligible to play until he stays up in the pros for another 7 games.

I don't know how he even played 1 game on the farm, other than EHM being weird about confirming farm lines.

Odd, NHL suspensions dont effect AHL eligibility.

They don't by letter of the law. But I believe there is a handshake agreement between the NHL and AHL to honor a suspension. I think they spoke about that recently on 32 Thoughts - but by recently I mean during the preseason when the FLA/TBL brawl happened.

Scott Sabourin for the Lightning, was suspended for 4 NHL games for a preseason incident against the Panthers. He has played 5 games in the AHL since, while being called up to the Lightning on the Crunch's non-game day's to serve his suspension. He's now served 3 of the 4 games so far I believe.

Edstrom being sent down wouldn’t advance his suspension correct

Essentially the issue is that EHM doesn't really follow real life rules, especially ones from 25 years after it was made. While we do try to align with a lot of rules, there's an extra level of micromanagement that would be required to ensure AHL games counted towards suspended games missed. It's a thing that could be discussed and considered, but it's not straight-forward at this time.

From what I've read (briefly), the suspensions only carry over in the case of abuse of officials and such penalties. They showed a few examples of players getting suspended in both the NHL and AHL, and the other league not upholding the suspensions. Hence, I'd have to call up Geekie to Vancouver for him to serve his suspension, whereas he should be clear in the AHL.

DET is over due to not having enough LTIR for whoever was called up.

PIT is over from earlier in the season (didn't quite dip under an average of 60M before starting to use the LTIR from Veleno).

Technically it's from forgetting to send someone down after I signed Grachev 😅 but also why do I only get 300k in ltir from the 3 injuries combined?

Because you were at 59M on the next game after both Peterson and Snuggerud were injured, and then you signed/recalled replacements after the LTIR was calculated.

... right, I always forget about that nonsense, needing to call up as much salary as possible for a game before sending bodies down (I also forgot that I could have sent Snuggerud down for his injury, which I've done so should be back to building cap space soon enough)

For some unknown reason I thought Valimaki getting suspended would give me LTIR so I called someone up. Couldn't tell you why I thought that's how it worked :/

You're even more over the cap now. Burakowsky is only out for a week and won't give you any LTIR. You can't just keep calling up players when you're already over the cap.
