From the 1st of September (in-game), yes.

No. I'm going to do all signings at once, so I don't have to go through all the teams multiple times. I'll post who gets a boost when I do.
Boosters still get signed in-game rather than through the file, yes?

I've a question.

Once a player gets a QO, can the "owning" team still sign the player at the salary based on the calculator anytime before the 1st of September, or then, his 2 only options are either matching an offer sheet (if he gets one) or being automatically signed at 120% of the current salary on the 15th of September?

Actually I'm going to sign them via the file. It's the way we handle all ELCs during the season, so I'm going to do it that way for all contracts later today.

If I'd known that, I'd've taken a flyer on Karpukhin.

Curious, why does this matter? What does it effect? I know how to play the game but not well-versed in file operations.

Entering them in-game, if they don't agree to the contract in two days (and they often don't) they won't have an opportunity to boost until the following year (leaving their team with somewhat of a wasted contract spot for a year). By entering them in the file, they're guaranteed to have a chance to boost this year (which is also beneficial for someone like Karpukhin who needs two boosts (or a double boost)).

So I guess the "owning" team can't sign the player between the 1st and the 14th of September, right?
He can only match an eventual offer sheet, yes?

Ran into some file problems, so I've had to go slow with entering contracts. Got about 1/2 in, will finish the rest tomorrow. Advanced past 6/20 (game date), and got the following pot boosters:

Joshua Burnside (CBS)
David Cotton (MTL)
Aapeli Rasanen (OTT)
Dylan Larkin (STL)
Lucas Carlsson (STL)
Brandon Hickey (WSH)

Few more boosters:
Matthew Spencer (SJ)
Nick Wolff (VAN)
Jake Walman (VAN)

And a couple 21 year olds even managed to boost (to 6X POT)...
Adam Tambellini (FLA)
Tyler Hill (VAN)

Few salary changes:
Nicklas Backstrom = 5.4M
Adam Erne = 2.4M (as discussed)
Rodrigo Abols = 1.4M (double booster)
Ilya Karpukhin = 1.35M (double booster)
Ryan Hitchcock = 1.3M (double booster)
Roger Karrer = 950k (booster)

I didn't look at contract lengths other than noting whether or not they were acceptable given the amount so you'll have to check those for yourselves. Remember that they should be 1 year longer than what you offered since they'll be reduced by a year at the rollover. Also remember that, as Bub said, not all the contracts are in yet.

From the statement in the contract signings thread, it says a $250,000 bonus will be added for POT boosters. I don't see where it says it's $250,000 for each time the player can boost. So shouldn't Abols be $1,150,000?

Was sure I remembered seeing somewhere that it's 250k for each potential boost but no idea where so maybe my memory's playing tricks on me. Kind of hard to figure out from past contracts (I looked at De Jong as an example but I think minimum salary when he signed for 400k in which case 850k doesn't make sense either way). Although Tyler Hill would be an example supporting that it's only 250k for any potential booster since he's 250k beyond his 2nd round draft slot.

Guess I'll leave it to the league historians to tell me what's what.

I think it was intended to be 250k per boost but never explicitly laid out so I'm fine with saying 250k total.

Didn't Connor Brickley boost twice? I don't remember now.

I don't understand anything now xD
So, we can offer all UFAs at least 75% of their last salary now?
And 120% of their last salary to all RFAs?
Or am I totally lost?

Right now...
75% (or higher) to UFAs
Calculator value (or higher) to RFAs

September 1st...
25% (or higher) to UFAs
120% (or higher) to RFAs

September 15th...
All remaining RFAs are signed to qualifying offer (120% of previous salary for one year)

October 1st...
League minimum (or higher) to UFAs

It's 2/3rds (66.6...% for UFAs) right now.
1/3rd (33.3...% for UFAs) on September 1st.

I updated the player file (and save file) with all of the free agent signings except JC Lipon I think. Have a look and double-check that everyone has the right team, term and contract since I had to go through each thread and may have made a typo somewhere.

If you notice Zetterberg making league-minimum for the Sharks, that's not a typo but the consequences of an obscure rule that you don't need to worry about.

Ok folks, time to end the summer once and for all.

Pre-season game simming will start Saturday night. I'll run a couple of nights sims until we catch up, time-wise, into next week. You can use GMO to call up and demote players, but need to post on the waiver wire forum for any prospects you want called up. And remember to leave at least one player on the farm so as to not crash the game.

We're still working through the few RFA bids we've received so far, so patience on that front. Thanks for not flooding our inboxes with those. :)

Remember that today is the last day to make bids on RFAs. We've had a few offers already; no more will be accepted after mindnight (eastern, US time) tonight.

Unmatched offer sheets will be signed by the new (offering) team. Matched sheets will stay with their previous team. RFAs who received no offers will be signed to their original team at 120% previous salary, per the rules.

(I suppose I should create a "Fall 2016" post now, lol.)

The following are the remaining RFAs who did not have bids offered by their owning GMs. If no bids or trades are made for or on them by Monday at noon, they will be released as free agents, and subject to the regular free agent process. Our goal is to have no RFAs left on any teams after Monday.

Alec Martinez, WPG
Jeff Petry, EDM
Martin Lojek, FLA
Phillip di Giuseppe, NJ
Lars Eller, OTT

So we're going to have "waiver day" on 10/5 or 10/6, so halfway between end of pre-season and start of regular season. We're trying to figure out if we need to make a list of eligibles, or "force" GMs to send down guys to the farm by then. Stay tuned.
