Whelp this deal made sense on two levels for me. On one, Rask is an upgrade over Hellberg. Hellberg, known lovingly as The Mountain (TM - thanks SJS), racked up a lot of wins with us, but really only had a stretch of 1-2 weeks of good play. Pickard - Rask, in my opinion is exactly the duo I want heading into the playoffs. On the other, Rask makes 850K vs. Hellberg's 2,520,000. This 1.6 million and change can potentially be put to good use in other trade deadline moves.

There's a cost to these two good things, though, and thats Reichel. Reichel was just drafted in the third round but I really loved his skillset. Truth be told he was one guy I wasn't really interested in moving, but you have to give to get, and its a slight upgrade + good savings. I hope Reichel does great for you BOS

Confirmed.

Reichel is the prize here, he'll be useful down the road. Rask can play, he just wasn't working for me. I think I can flip Hellberg before the trade deadline, and if I can't hes gone at seasons end.
