Two more game sevens round out the first round of the EHEC playoffs.

In the first game, the Philadelphia Flyers pull off the biggest upset I can remember seeing, coming back from being down 3-1 to knock off the juggernaut Ottawa Senators with a shocking 6-1 win. Superstar Connor McDavid ends the playoffs with 6 points and a -7 rating thanks to some of worst goaltending imaginable (seriously, both goalie under .800, what? I checked and the only performance that bad was 4 games of Ilya Bryzgalov, although Cam Ward also had a stinker back in season 2). Congrats to Aidan and sorry to Marty.

In the second game, the Pittsburgh Penguins storm out to a 2-0 lead before the first four minutes are up, but the crowd's excitement fades as the Tampa Bay Lightning whittle away at the lead. Kyle Connor breaks his slump with a powerplay goal (?!) early in the third and the Pens give up an empty-net goal to seal the lead for the Lightning. Congrats to Geoff and the retooled Lightning and commiserations to Trevor and the revamped Penguins, who I'm sure will be back. Side note: we've seen some wild +/- numbers with the "quality" of "goaltending" this season, but the differential between Seth Jones' +11 and Erik Gudbranson's -8 is something.

Some WHC games happened and mysteriously, two of them totalled 8 and 10 goals instead of 9.

Dang. With the way our season started, making it up to 4th and playing a tight series against another good team is still not bad and it's nice to have this team back in the playoffs but making the second round would've been nice.
