Morin is relatively young, but likely to get more expensive over time. I'm unsure about whether he would fit a top 4 role long-term, so I'd rather convert his value into an option for potentially a better player in the long term.

PIT agrees.
We originally took Pysyk's contract back to make the Svechnikov deal work, and while he's been surprisingly better than expected for us during his time here, his contract was annoying and he's the odd man out when everyone is healthy. Morin is a player I've liked for a while; a consistent and punishing defensive defenseman.
