Last sim before I travel, will it be interesting? No, probably not.
Andrei Vasilevski picked up an assist and stopped 29 of 31 in a 3-2 St. Louis win over their fellow blue-named team.
Despite finishing the first down 1-0 and failing to score on 5 third period powerplays, the Ducks beat the Sabres 3-1.
There were no 5-on-5 goals in Minnesota, as the home team scored one on the powerplay, one shorthanded, and one on an empty-net, while the Flames replied with a shorthanded goal of their own. A full 1/3rd of the game was played with one team or the other on the powerplay.
Similarly, the Kings (2/4, 11 shots) and Avalanche (2/3, 3 shots) each managed to score two powerplay goals. Unfortunately for Colorado, they only scored one other while Los Angeles managed three more, despite non-powerplay shots being in Colorado's favour (14-11).
Okay, so the big game of the day actually did not disappoint. Dallas scored two in the first, including a powerplay goal with 29s left in the period (beware the late goal). All was even in the second, a goal a piece, but the Habs came storming back with two goals in the first half of the third. Less than 8min to go in a tie-game, Montreal promptly threw it away - Milan Michalek taking a 5min attempt to injure penalty (Charlie McAvoy is out for more than a month, so Michalek sits for 5 games), which the Stars used to score the winning goal 4:43 later. Mike Richards decided they weren't going to come back from that, so he took a slashing penalty with less than three remaining, then with less than 90s left we had offsetting roughings between Namestnikov and the Wire's Jimmy (Mark) McNulty. Finally, with 42 seconds left, Cristoval Nieves said "boo" and jumped Milan Michalek to get revenge for Charlie's arm.
Back to more subdued events, the Sharks rode the day's wave of special teams, going 2 for 3 on the powerplay in their 4-2 defeat of the Oilers.
Similarly, the Capitals went 2 for 3 on their powerplays in a win against the Devils, though each team scored one more than the Sharks-Oilers.

Re: December 30, 2021
Time to go back to Carter Fart I guess. 9 hits for Bernard and 7 takeaways for Sebrango.
The Colorado Avalanche - missing the playoffs every year since EHEC began UNTIL NOW! PLAN THE PARADE BABY
Re: December 30, 2021
Suppose it's better to get the cold streak done mid-season than entering the playoffs....December was not a good month. .500 maybe? How am I still in 1st? lol - not much longer.
