January ends with two shutouts and a tie, but by far the most conspicuous event is Montreal's Shawn Matthias evaporating Clayton Keller's head, earning them a 25-game suspension and 6 month injury, respectively (while giving Anaheim the win, annoyingly enough). The move helps expand Montreal's already-substantial lead in the coveted Total Cap Hit Unavailable To Play category.

At what point do the Habs' players need an intervention?
The Avs, led by Cahtah Haht and Taylor Raddysh, keep on rolling with their fourth straight win - and do their caretaker cousins a big favour by taking out Boston. I don't know what's in their Gatorade but that's what they're drinking from now on.

The Colorado Avalanche - missing the playoffs every year since EHEC began UNTIL NOW! PLAN THE PARADE BABY

I'd say it's EHM attempting to reflect reality, but you have around twice as many wins in 49 games as the real Habs are projected to get in 82 games

As much as I do love you and your team, and I do, the East is a doughy, cream-filled donut compared to the hellish landscape of the West.
East: All are welcome! Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
West: Fuck you. Fuck all you. I will burn you with acid and fire, then with more fire.
